I admit.

Sometimes I take the easy way out.

I like to search for group deals or find study abroad trips instead of traveling alone. Partly because I’m a college student still wanting to continue my education, and partly because I have really bad anxiety.

But I’m changing that.

Face my fears – that has been my motto sense high school, and I’m not going to stop with it now.

So next year, if my blog reaches my goal of 30,000 pageviews a month, I’m planning a trip to Albania.

Or Italy.

Or Indonesia.

I haven’t decided yet, but at least I know a lot of tips for accommodation!

And now you do, too.

Whether you are traveling alone or in a small group, these options are for you.

Search for Hostels

A hostel is an inn providing inexpensive food and accommodations usually for a specific group of people, such as students, workers, or travelers. Hostels are a great and cheap way to find lodging while traveling, and while you most likely won’t get a private room to yourself, the cheap living usually makes it worth it.

Here are some websites where you can find hostels:

  • HostelWorld.com
  • HostelBookers.com
  • HostelsClub.com
  • HostelsGeeks.com
  • Booking.com

You can also search Google for hostels.

From there, you can also click “Guest favorites”, “Budget options”, “Luxury stays” or “Deals”.

Then, you can book a room straight from Google or from their website.

Search for Budget Hotels

If you plan to have a short stay, or perhaps want to book a couple days in a hotel before looking for a place to rent monthly for as long as your visa will allow you – budget hotels are the way to go.

You can find some in the links below:

  • Kayak.com
  • BudgetHotels.com
  • Trivago.com
  • HipMunk.com
  • Hotels.com
  • Expedia.com
  • RoomKey.com
  • TripHop.com

And just like Hostels, you can also search for budget options straight from google.

Search for Monthly Rentals

Staying for longer? Why not search for monthly rentals, instead?

  • AirBnB.com
  • LongTermLettings.com
  • TripAdvisor.com
  • Booking.com
  • Wimbdu.com
  • HomeToGo.com
  • Expat.com
  • Sublet.com

In addition, you can also search for monthly rentals when you get to your destination. It’s best to book a hotel or hostel for a week, at least, just in case.

Search AirBnB
